The Rotary skin bank, a state-of-the-art facility where skin will be collected, processed and preserved was inaugurated on 15.03.24 at Father Muller Hospital, Mangalore by DG Rtn. Major Donor H.R. Keshav. Similar to the donation of organs, those who are willing to donate, they can donate skin as well. The advantage of skin bank is for those who have burn injuries, donated skin can be used to avoid any kind of infections. The harvested skin can be preserved for up to 5-6 months if processed in the right way. The project was the result of Global grant 2344111 with global partners Rotary Club of Central Chester County USA, Rotary Club of Schererville USA.
