Rotary Club of Mangalore Launched ‘Women’s Wellness Mobile Clinic’, a mobile cancer detection bus at a cost of Rs 1.25 Crores on 5th Jan 2022
Oral Cancer, Breast Cancer and Cervical cancer account for 55% of the cancers in India and their early detection and treatment can save the lives of rural women in our district. The community will be engaged through Sarapanchs, Asha Anganwadi workers, women self-help groups, and local community leaders for conducting the health camps and screening of Oral Cancer, Breast Cancer and Cervical cancer, and other non-communicable diseases in this Mobile Wellness clinic. The screening or any examination done on the bus is free of cost. This cancer detection bus is well equipped with a state-of-the-art Mammography machine for breast examination & screening and Colposcope for cervical screening. BPL women who have been detected with cancer would be given free treatment at Yenepoya Hospital. This project is aimed at helping lower-income groups. The ‘Women’s Wellness Mobile Clinic’ is a unique project launched for the women in our district for screening and early detection of Cancer & non-communicable diseases and treatment of BPL women will be free of cost.
